Some highlights: For Hearst, I helped to build a grocery price dashboard, analysed which colleges gave the best ROI. For my personal project, I did a crash course in computational linguistics to analyse the "influencer accent", scraped 13,000 reviews from IGN to find out if they really give an overwhelming number of 7s, and manually read and categorised 4,000 reports of Bigfoot sightings to find out what he looks like. In a previous and current life as a video and multimedia journalist, I make visual first video explainers on topics like climate finance, the history of swing states in the US , and why TikTok is so addictive.

Why 'snowy' New York winters are a bit of a myth

New York City winters are often depicted as snowy wonderlands with freezing temperatures. But lately that image doesn't seem accurate. While cold snaps happen, consistent deep snow, freezing temperatures, and the city's overall snowy winter reputation is a bit overblown.
